欧洲化学品管理局（ECHA）于2013年12月10日更新了物品中高关注度物质（SVHC物质）的数据该数据来源于业界向ECHA通报的数据以及注册的相关信息。数据主要涉及第1-8批SVHC物质，而物品中第9批SVHC物质的通报将于2013年12月20日截止。
在第1-8批138个SVHC物质中，ECHA只收到了32个SVHC物质在物品中的通报，其中以DEHP收到的通报最多，有103份。HBCDD紧随其后（31项）。这些数据每6个月更新一次。
但是，ECHA指出，该数据并不能提供一个欧盟市场上销售情况的全景，这是因为，ECHA收到的通报仅是有限的一部分。

SVHC
即高关注度物质，英文全称为Substances of Very High Concern。根据欧盟REACH法规第57条，高关注度物质共有以下几种：
第1类和第2类致癌，致畸和具有生殖毒性的物质，即CMR1类和2类物质；
持久性、生物累积性和毒性的物质，即PBT物质；
高持久性、高生物累积性的物质，即 vPvB物质；
具有内分泌干扰特性，或具持久性、生物累积性和毒性，或具高持久性、高生物累积性但不符合2、3两项标准，同时有科学证据证明对人类或环境引起严重影响的物质，即同等关注物质。
根据REACH法规第7条第2款：如果物品中含有SVHC物质，且满足以下两个条件时，生产商或进口商需根据法规第7条第4款向欧洲化学品管理局(ECHA)进行通报，且通报内容和格式必须符合相关通报要求：
高关注物质在物品中的含量超过1吨/年；
高关注物质在物品中的质量百分浓度超过0.1%
